What to Have in Your Vehicle during the Winter (Part 1)
Not having all of the winter necessities in your trunk could be crucial in the harshest months of the year. Let us try to avoid any unwanted accidents and be prepared – here you can find a list of the most important things that you not only should have but also need to have.
1.First aid kit – It is absolutely crucial to have a first aid kit in your car in case of an accident. Of course, it is one of the things you should keep in your vehicle at all times not only during the winter.
2.Shovel – You can buy a shovel that would be useful if you are stuck in the snow, or you need to clear out your driveway in the morning. The shovel doesn’t need to be anything big, something that would do the trick and that would be perfect to keep in the trunk of the vehicle.
3.Ice scraper and a snow brush – It is highly important to be able to clean your vehicle from all of the snow and ice during the harsh months. You absolutely need to do this so that you have a good view of the road and the vehicles around you.
4.Blanket, winter clothes, gloves – You might not need them but it is good to have them. You can be warmer while you are clearing out the snow off of your vehicle in the morning, and you might need to leave the vehicle to check on something. And as far as the blanket goes, if your vehicle breaks down and you can’t start the car to keep the heat on you need to have another option for keeping warm while help gets to you.
5.Emergency flares or reflectors – If you find yourself in the middle of a snowstorm that means that visibility would be slightly or really reduced, if you have reflectors your vehicle would be visible to other drivers and emergency help if you are on the side of the road or on the road.
Be well prepared during the coldest months of the year and have your vehicle winterized at a good auto repair shop and you will be glad you had all of the precautionary measures taken care of.
