How to Maintain BMW Tips and Tricks

Owning a BMW vehicle can be a great experience, but it can sometimes become annoying and costly if you don’t take care of it properly. In the following article, we are going to take a look at what could save you some costly repairs in the long run.

The most important thing, as with all vehicles actually, is to perform oil changes regularly. The engine is the heart of the car, so you need to take good care of it, just as you would for your own heart. Regular oil changes will ensure that the engine of your vehicle is working properly and is well lubricated. Changing the oil every 5,000 – 7,500 miles might sound too soon for you, but trust me when I say it is for the best, this is one of the ways you can prolong the lifespan of your BMW. Along with this, you should have the filters replaced or cleaned (whichever the model calls for) because this, in turn, would ensure that the oil in the engine does not get contaminated. The change of the filters does not need to be as often as the oil change, but still do not forget about it, otherwise, you might regret it later on.

The tires are where your car meets the road, so you need to make sure that they are up to the challenge. Tires need to be rotated every once in a while to ensure the wear and tear of the tread remains more or less the same. What you can do even more often to ensure that the vehicle’s tires are safe is to check the air pressure. In fact, that is a must, check it at least once a month, and, if you have the opportunity, every week would be perfect. You have to keep the tires properly inflated as per the requirement for the given model of BMW, they must not be overinflated or underinflated.

When it comes to the transmission of your BMW it is a very good idea to have the transmission fluid flushed every 50,000 miles in order to save yourself some costly bills in the future. After all, which is better – regularly servicing the transmission fluid and filter or paying to have the transmission replaced?

Now, as a last piece of advice, I would like to draw your attention to the choice of an auto shop for your BMW - it is preferable if you have your prized vehicle serviced at an auto shop that is qualified and specializes in BMW service and repairs. Of course, the choice is completely up to you, but I personally would certainly like to know that the technicians working on my BMW are specialist when it comes to that brand.
