Is your business green? People want to know what you are doing to be green. Today everyone is saying they are green or sustainable, but not explaining how they fulfill this claim.
So, you must PROVE IT to the community if you want to be taken seriously.
To apply for your badges, click on the badge that you feel you may qualify for and give as much detail as possible as to what your organization`s efforts are for that badge.
You must earn a total of 5 badges to have a chance at inclusion in the Green Directory.
The Badge Department will review your application, and return a response within 3- 5 days to let you know if you have been accepted.
By applying for these badges, you agree to be audited randomly. Green Directory Montana® has secret shoppers that will randomly order services or come in to shop and observe. These observations will be reported to the Badge Department, and if necessary, an investigation can be done and badges may be pulled.
If approved, badges will be displayed under the businesses who have earned them. An algorithm automatically ranks who is the "greenest" in each category. The Badge page allows consumers to search for listings by badges earned, i.e. businesses who recycle, donate to non-profits, etc.
Each Green Badge has a proprietary score given it due to its importance in an organization`s efforts to be sustainable. The Green Badges are automatically tallied and an algorithm ranks the highest scoring organization in each category at the top of the list and above the page fold, rewarding the highest achieving organization`s efforts and creating competition to continually improve sustainability efforts. Our mission is to give everyone the choice to preserve our beautiful planet for future generations. Knowledge of greener choices can provide a way to the sustainable future we all want.
Maybe one green change alone can`t make the world sustainable overnight, but thousands, and eventually millions of ones will. One drop in a bucket hardly makes a splash, but millions of individual drops make an ocean.
