Nature of Business: Rose`s Rugs are rustic & playful. Distinct. Crocheted with delight. And, most are crafted from 80 to 100% recycled cotton sheets. Rose`s Rugs make an expressive splash of color in any room, creating a warm and inviting community from a particular grouping of furniture. They are particularly dramatic on wood, painted concrete, rock and tile floors, though they may need a textured under-pad to keep them from sliding on smooth surfaces. They are particularly striking as a wall hanging, suspended from a willow branch or dowel. Some folks use smaller rugs as cushions on chairs, or under their feet while they work at a computer. Mission: Creating a meaningful life for a young, other-abled artist, a way for her to experience her value as a human being and an artist and to be affirmed for that in her community.

Relation to Your Community: Rose has lived in Bozeman since birth. She grew up in a retail business her mother owned. The downtown community especially is her foundation. Her rugs are her gift to and celebration of her community. Rose brings an instinctive gift for dynamic color combinations to her rugs. Maybe somewhere in her DNA female ancestors from her Crow Indian heritage help her out: Crow beadwork uses vibrant juxtapositions of color for dramatic designs. Maybe being "other-abled" -- Rose is an adult with Down`s Syndrome - gives her the ability to be truly intuitive in her work. Either way, each of Rose`s Rugs is truly a one-of-a- kind creation. Rose is a member of the International BodyTalk Association, the Indian Arts and Crafts Association, and a Special Olympian.
