Mission: Our mission is to offer a venue for people to sell and purchase products grown or created locally. We believe is supporting local businesses, farmers, artists, crafters and bakers. We believe in cultivating community. We believe in shopping local. We believe in education. We believe in self sufficiency. We believe in being locavores. We believe in creativity. We believe in reducing, reusing and recycling. Relation to Your Community: By supporting local farmers, artists, musicians, non-profits and crafters, we not only help improve the economy of our community, but we decrease our carbon footprint by conserving resources to transport items from across the globe. We offer a weekly adopt-a-weekend for non-profits to set up a fund & consciousness raising program. We have worked with groups such as MSU Extention office, Friends of the Thompson Falls Library, Sanders County Environmental Health Office, area Master Gardeners and the city and county to host gardening workshops at a minimal cost to area residence. To support the efforts of our farmers by giving them an affordable platform to sell their products. The Market Recycles – we encourage locals to Keep it, Clean it, Bring it! We recycle specific items that artists and farmers can reuse in their daily work. We ecourage people to ride a bike, walk or carpool to the market. We encourage the use of \"green bags\" or baskets as shopping bags instead of plastic. Organic produce, grass fed animals and free range chicken/eggs all raised locally helps reduce the global use of chemicals/hormones that get used by companies from around the world for mass production. |  | Conserving natural resources reason We host composting workshops that teach area residence how to turn their food scraps, leaves and other materials into nutrient rich soil for their gardens. We support the xeriscape gardening by area residents. We support rain water collection for watering local gardens and the market's site/field. We use recycled paper and natural inks. By encouraging people to shop local at the market which the vendors are also local, helps keep that money circulating throughout the community.
