Summer is coming to a close but that doesn't mean its time to rest on your recycling laurels. S.A.V.E. has multiple events planned in the coming weeks and we will be depending on your support to make them successful. We will see a plastics drive, an electronic waste recycling drive, and the community favorite, Trash-4-Trees in the coming weeks. Read below for more details and how you can help out. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you there.
Plastics Drive ~ September 9 - 12 ~ 1100 N. Last Chance Gulch
The drive will run from September 9th through 12th, from 8AM until 6PM. During these drives, we work with our community partners to make it possible for you to recycle plastic that would otherwise be sent to a landfill. Follow this link to get more information on what types of plastics we collect at the drive and learn about our sponsors.
Erase Your E-Waste ~ September 24th ~ 1700 Cedar St.
S.A.V.E. will partner with Montana DEQ and Yellowstone E-Waste Solutions and several community partners will host an electronic recycling event on September 24, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. It will located in the K-Mart parking lot at 1700 Cedar St. It will be a great opportunity for you to clean out your garage and responsibly dispose of your old electronics. If you have some free time, S.A.V.E. can always use additional volunteers to help the event run smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the office at 449.6008. We hope to see you there!
Trash-4-Trees ~ October 1st ~ 3067 N Montana Ave.
This year's Trash-4-Trees event is right around the corner. Trash for Trees is a joint effort of S.A.V.E. and Growing Friends of Helena. The recycling drive is an opportunity for community members to recycle materials including: newspaper, magazines, glass, cardboard, aluminum cans, steel cans, and plastic bottles. Money raised by recycling these items goes toward planting trees in Helena with Growing Friends and supporting expanded recycling with the S.A.V.E. Foundation. The event will be held on October 1st in the Good Samaritan parking lot (3067 N Montana Ave.), from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Contact our office at 449.6008 for additional information or to find out how you can help out.

Montana Non-Profit Association Conference
MNA turns 10 this year and they plan on addressing what it means to be a nonprofit in today's world. The event will explore how reflecting on the past, assessing the present, and planning for the future can increase the impact of nonprofits in communities throughout Montana. The event will run from September 28 - 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Billings to celebrate and reflect on 10 wonderful years! S.A.V.E. will be in attendance for the event and will be providing recycling for the attendees.
Latex Paint Exchange ~ Drop-off September 16 - 23, Pickup Sep 24 ~ Transfer Station
The City of Helena's biannual latex paint exchange at the Transfer Station is coming up soon. The public will be free to drop off usable paints from September 16th to the 23rd. Paint pick-up will be on September the 24th, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. At these events, good usable latex paint can be dropped off or picked up free of charge. If the paint is not usable or if you cannot bring the paint on these dates, please air dry or solidify and double bag for disposal. For more information, visit the city's recycling page here.
Volunteers
Just because summer is over doesn't mean that S.A.V.E. has anytime to rest. We are currently recruiting volunteer greeters and sorters for our September plastic recycling drive next weekend. There is also the following e-waste drive and Trash-4-Trees event that we need volunteers to help pull it off. If you are interested in helping recycle at our upcoming events, please contact our office at 449.6008 for more details. Feel free to email us at Recycle@SAVEmobile.org for any questions you might regarding future drives and how you can help out.
