Green Directory organizes the World`s information on sustainability making it easily available and transparent.
Green Directory Montana brings together businesses and consumers who are environmentally and socially responsible. Changing the future landscape of our community by offering benefits to businesses who institute sustainable practices, we believe will give our children a better future, instead of leaving more problems. We believe businesses that consider a triple bottom line* will thrive and that consumers will increasingly demand more sustainable ways of doing business.
We are passionate about educating businesses and consumers on becoming more sustainable on a daily basis. We believe that our values can be woven into our workplaces and into our purchasing decisions.

Origins
Green Directory Montana originated in an unmet need for readily available, user-friendly information about businesses, organizations and individuals that provide earth-friendly products or services in Montana.
Sustainable Badge Ranking System(SBRS).
Green Directory created a online software system called the Sustainable Badge Ranking System (SBRS). It has been developed for over 19 years in collaboration with the Western Sustainability Exchange.
Green Directory is a micro-economy. We make business happen based on presenting information about businesses and educating consumers.

Inclusion
Green Directory Montana requires applicants to earn a minimum of 3 environmentally focused badges and a total of 5 badges to have a chance at inclusion in the Green Directory. The Badge Department will review the application, and return a response within 3- 5 days to let you know the status of the application.
Readers can feel good about shopping the guide as they know that their purchasing power helps support our community.
Steps to become a member:
To become a certified member of Green Directory, you will need to complete the following four steps:
1. Green Directory requires a $49.99 non-refundable Review Fee to begin the application process.* This allows us to review and investigate the claims made on the application.
2. Complete the application in the Sustainable Badge Ranking System software. Allow 20-45 min To begin the process click here: Start Membership>>> Fill out the form on that page and it will take you to the next step.
3. Take the Pledge and agree to the secret shoppers program.

After we receive the completed application, we will be in contact with you within 1-5 days of approval or denial of the application.
If approved, we create design and layout of your organization`s profile page. You then receive your certification seal and choose membership tier.
If declined, we will work with you on ways to become more sustainable.

Policies
Deadline & Proofing Policy
All materials need to be received two weeks prior to the publishing date. The editor reserves the right to edit or trim the article as needed for space in the Green Directory. We will do our best to re-submit changes to the author for re-approval before publication as long as we have received articles in a timely manner. No refunds if the advertiser did not comply with the deadlines. Green Directory will allow advertiser to be in the following issue. It`s much appreciated to receive new articles/ads well before the deadline.
No Refund Policy
Our no refund policy is due to the fact that Green Directory Montana services start immediately upon becoming a member.
Graphic Design Policy
Green Directory Montana offers minor changes to be done to an existing ad complementary. One revision - free If we need to re-create a new ad it is a $80 hr. For green directory members, it is $50 hr. For camera-ready art, it must be 200-300 dpi at 100% of the ad size. Photoshop TIFF or JPEG, or Press-Ready PDF only.
Content policy
Green Directory Montana will find green news you can use, as well as links to organizations, businesses (some of which might be included in our listings, some not) and services that we think do great work or are particularly newsworthy. Links from stories to outside news sites, blogs, wikis, or retailers should be considered just that- a link to more information. Links do not constitute an endorsement of a site`s overall content. For Green Directory Montana evaluated businesses and services, please refer to our listings.
Badges Policy
The Sustainability Badge Program is an honor system, however, Green Directory Montana does have secret shoppers that will randomly audit members. If you have a dispute, question and/or concern, please e-mail us at info@greendirectorymontana.com or call 208-TREE(8733).
