The Green Directory Montana`s mission is to bring together businesses and consumers who are environmentally and socially responsible. Changing the future landscape of our community by offering benefits to businesses who institute sustainable practices, we believe will give our children a better future, instead of leaving more problems. We believe businesses that consider a triple bottom line* will thrive and that consumers will increasingly demand more sustainable ways of doing business.
We are passionate about educating businesses and consumers on becoming more sustainable on a daily basis. We believe that our values can be woven into our workplaces and in our purchasing decisions.

Origins
Green Directory Montana originated in an unmet need for readily available, user-friendly information about businesses, organizations and individuals that provide earth-friendly products or services in Montana.
Public interest in the health of our shared environment is high at this time. People are beginning to integrate changes into their own lives, paralleling the efforts of many of the businesses in our state.
Inclusion
Green Directory Montana requires applicants to earn a minimum of 3 environmentally focused badges and a total of 5 badges to have a chance at inclusion in the Green Directory. The Badge department will review the application, and return a response within 3- 5 day to let you know if they have been accepted.
As a result, readers can feel good about shopping the guide as they know that their purchasing power helps support our community.

Policys
Deadline & Proofing Policy
All materials need to be received two weeks prior to the publishing date. The editor reserves the right to edit or trim the article as needed for space in the Green Directory. We will do our best to re-submit changes to the author for re-approval before publication as long as we have received articles in a timely manner. No refunds if the advertiser did not comply with the deadlines. Green Directory will allow advertiser to be in the following issue. It`s much appreciated to receive new articles/ads well before the deadline.
No Refund Policy
Our no refund policy is due to the fact that Green Directory services start immediately upon becoming a member. For example, if a business signed up in January and had been listed on the web site until June then asked for there money back by then it would have been 5 months of web presence. In addition to that, members receive recognition as a sponsor of the Green Scene E-Newsletter at some point in time during there membership which is another benefit of green directory.
Graphic Design Policy
Green Directory offers minor changes to be done to an existing ad complementary. For an example, changing a phone number. One revision - free If we need to re-create a new ad it is a $80 hr. For green directory members, it is $50 hr. For camera-ready art, it must be 200-300 dpi at 100% of the ad size. Photoshop TIFF or JPEG, or Press-Ready PDF only.
Content policy
Green Directory will find green news you can use, as well as links to organizations, businesses (some of which might be included in our listings, some not) and services that we think do great work or are particularly newsworthy. Links from stories to outside news sites, blogs, wikis, or retailers should be considered just that- a link to more information. Links do not constitute an endorsement of a site`s overall content. For Green Directory evaluated businesses and services, please refer to our listings.
Badges Policy
This program is an honor system, however, green directory does have secret shoppers. If you have a dispute, question and/or concern, please e-mail us at info@greendirectorymontana.com or call 208-TREE.
Renewal Policy
If a client doesn`t contact us of cancellation of ad, it will automatically run in the next issue.
