The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) recently settled enforcement actions against the CHS, Inc. Laurel Refinery and the ConocoPhillips Company Billings Refinery for failing to comply with their Montana Air Quality Operating Permits and Montana Air Quality Permits at their refineries. CHS paid a $165,000 administrative penalty and Conoco paid a $351,500 administrative penalty to the DEQ as part of the settlements. pub.date: 2009-06-24
